History Of Java

Java Developed By James Gosling and his Team in 1991.

Java Developed in Sun Microsystems (Company).

Java's first name was (Oak).

Java first version was (java alpha beta version) released in 1995.

Java Second version was (JDK 1.0) released in 1996.

Oracle company acquisition of sun microsystems in (2010).

Now the license of java in the Oracle.


The principles for creating Java programming were Simple, Robust, Portable, Platform-independent, Secured, High Performance, Object-Oriented, Interpreted, and Dynamic.
 Java name was decided after much discussion since it was so unique. The name Java originates from a sort of espresso bean, Java. Gosling came up with this name while having a cup of coffee near his office.
Now Java is used in internet programming, mobile devices, games, e-business solutions, and so on.

 Firstly, it was called (Greentalk) by James Gosling, and the file extension was .gt.

After that, it was called Oak and was developed as a part of the Green project.


Why Oak? Oak is a symbol of strength and chosen as a national tree of many countries like the U.S.A., France, Germany, etc.

In 1995, Oak was renamed as Java because it was already a trademark by Oak Technologies.
